At Sea

Day 3 -
San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
|
This lively beach resort is a delightful place to see on Star Flyer cruises and it has successfully managed to retain all of its cultural charm which echoes its fishing heritage. The extensive waterfront is fringed by charming restaurants selling tantalising fresh fish dishes. On this Star Flyer cruise you can visit Lake Nicaragua, one of the world’s largest lakes and home to freshwater sharks. Perhaps you would like to take a boat ride to the volcanic island of Ometepe or just lie back on the golden beach and totally relax.

Day 4 -
Playas del Coco, Costa Rica

This magnificent destination we visit on Star Flyer is one of Costa Rica’s first beach resorts and has become extremely popular with scuba divers and surfers. The resort is embraced by vertical cliffs and lush hills, and it gets its name from the coconut palms that pepper the area. Inland you can explore the tropical rainforest or if you prefer, wander around the shops or watch the world go by in one of the bars.

Day 5 -
Cuajiniquil, Costa Rica

Today Star Flyer arrives at the small fishing port of Cuajiniquil which leads to two fantastic national parks, Santa Rosa and Guanacaste. Santa Rosa was the first national park in Costa Rica and protects Central America’s largest tropical dry rainforest. The area is bursting with fabulous wildlife and the national park is a nesting site for sea turtles.

Day 6 -
Samara (am), Puerto Carrillo (pm), Costa Rica
|
In the morning of today’s Star Flyer cruise we arrive in Samara which lies close to Puerto Carrillo where we will visit in the afternoon. Puerto Carrillo lets you taste the authentic flavours of Costa Rica and its idyllic palm-fringed bay is perfect for leisurely walks. If you are a lover of wildlife, there is an animal shelter here where you can see animal species such as vampire bats, monkeys and porcupines.

Day 7 -
National Reserve of Curu and Isla Tortugas
|
|
Firstly, explore Curu mangrove estuary which is a significant nature reserve for both birds and animals. Later on the Star Flyer cruise we make our way to the peaceful paradise of Isla Tortugas which can be found just off the Nicoya Peninsula. Here you might spot whales, dolphins and manta rays.

Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica

Star Flyer returns to Puerto Caldera today where your cruise terminates. You can either return to the UK or if would like more time to explore this vibrant city, ask one of our travel advisors to book additional nights stay for you.
